We want to give this short a really different feel and look and one of the first images I had of this “other world” was a desert. Now, I know what you’re thinking, how and where are they going to shoot a scene in a desert? Won’t that be expensive? We don’t think so. The way we have it set up is a very minimal shoot and since Bennet only can stay in the “other world” for 90 seconds we are going to portray that as mostly real time so there won’t be much to the shoot. Outdoors during the day won’t require lights so there goes a grip and the truck for that. Only the actor, director, 2 man camera crew and a PA or two will be necessary for the shoot and can easily be accomplished in a few hours. We found a desert in Waynoka, OK. Called Little Sahara, it’s famous for it’s sand dunes and ATV races and is about 3 and half hours away from Tulsa.
To give this place a more sci-fi feel, we will be adding a few practical elements to the scenery, namely large weather balloons hanging in the ski, planets in the distance, airships and other elements we will add in post production.
Other locations that are on the way to Little Sahara that could potentially be alternate shooting locations or shot for extra scenes include The Great Salt Plains in Jet, OK and the Glass Mountains in Fairview, OK.

We feel out of these four locations, at least one, if not all three will provide a very beautiful landscape to work with and will require a very minimum crew to achieve what we are looking for.
The Parking Garage
The parking garage scene is set up to be one of our main action sequences. Bennet chases the figure through the garage and down a stairwell before his time is up. We wanted to get out of the open and get more claustrophobic for this scene so it gives the feeling that Bennet is closing in on his prey.
We'll also be shooting at the rock cliffs at Chandler Park and the Pedestrian Bridge at 21st and Riverside in Tulsa. Scouting pics coming soon for those locations.
