story

In 2010 I had an idea for a short film about teleportation. The plan was to use a high concept idea and do it on a small budget. After months of research, notes, brainstorming and discussions, the story has finally taken shape and my short film is in development. In hashing out goals for 2011, completing this project is my passion and top priority.

Unknown State is about one man’s obsession with tracking down an unknown figure. Samuel Bennet is a computer scientist who has discovered the means of teleportation in his low tech and practical workshop, teleporting to another world that is unknown.

We come into the story after Bennet has been chasing the figure for months or even years. The figure resides in this other world, filled with desert landscapes riddled with giant balloons hanging in the sky, strange technologies, airships and planets so close to this world they take up a large portion of the sky.

Through teleportation Bennet chases this figure in the other world. The catch? He only has 90 seconds each jump to catch him. Able to determine the figures approximate location Bennet jumps again and again, trying to find a way to catch him.
