1.2.11

snow day.

Well if you live in Tulsa, Oklahoma or anywhere in the midwest right now we're all in the same boat, SNOW. I'm holed up at the local coffee shop where my lady works and enjoying the constant refills of coffee and Ray Charles on the speakers. Normally I'd be at work today, cutting a less than exciting video for the web.

Draft 2 of the script is finished, mainly cutting dialogue and adjusting some structure here in there. After a few suggestions, I decided to cut out all the dialogue and let the film be. There wasn't much to begin with, but the few lines that were in script weren't necessary, just a part of the first draft to see how it worked.  There was one scene that was pretty much only dialogue, a conversation between the protagonist and a colleague of his. This scene is still in and will probably be shot, but we're going to experiment with just showing the conversation and not hearing it.

The snow puts a halt on some of the work this week. I'll have to cancel a meeting on creating a funding packet, although i'll still be working on getting that together on my own.  Three of my main crew will be writing up some short bios for the packet and I'll post them here as well.

This weekend my DP, Charles Elmore and I had planned on doing some location scouting in northwest Oklahoma. The snow will probably postpone that trip to a later date, but we'll see how that turns out.

Here are some of the places we plan on visiting:

    little sahara

    great salt plains

    glass mountains

All 3 of these have a really interesting look and would be ideal for the "other world" feel we're going for.
